Call it a breeding ground for innovations and research or by any other name you wish to, the ground reality is that City Innovates Pvt Ltd, a Company known for its digital advances, is simmering with the activity of innovative pursuits by young interns from the leading engineering colleges universities pan India. It is a treat to watch 25 interns excited about their individual projects, shaping up to deliver positive outcomes. The mentors who are the employees of City Innovates and experts in their respective domains are equally gung ho at the performance of young minds.
It is a rare sight to watch the interns occupied in their respective projects more than even the employees in their live projects. After all, where else do you find companies getting so engrossed into making students industry-ready? “The enthusiasm in the interns is so overwhelming that they don’t let us focus even on our own core live projects. The compelling interest of interns is so engaging that we find it difficult to say them ‘NO’ to any question they ask us any time of the day”, remarks Vattan Deep, a Mentor in the advanced technology design of responsive website.
For interns, it is a life-changing exposure. “We couldn’t have imagined such a fast-paced learning as this”, saysDhrub Jindal from Thappar University. Naman, a yet another intern from NIIT Neemrana says, “I drive the Company’s international digital marketing, an opportunity I couldn’t have hoped with any other company. I have full freedom to try an innovative strategy and tactics to penetrate the world market. The experience is preparing me for the new challenging assignments”. Jaspreet from GurunanakDev University Amritsar and Rahul Singh from Pondicherry University amongst the top performers of their colleges are confident of rolling out their niche software projects within the next ten days.
As for City Innovates, the CIIP platform created for such learning is hugely empowering. It has made the process a very serious activity. But for Campus placements in their home universities and colleges, it does not spare the interns to go out of the Company for any other reason. The reporting timings are fixed and lunch break is just the only time to relax and chat amongst friends. The project work goes under the watchful eyes of senior Management. There is a weekly performance evaluation by the Mentors which is displayed on the Notice Board. “You cannot let go this robust activity as an ordinary learning. The precious time of the top notch students of various institutes is important to us and they must go back to their institutes, well empowered.
